Marrow- the essential inner thing

It’s where blood is made- the bone is only structure,

the marrow is what is alive.

It’s meant innermost essence for five centuries.

To get to the marrow of something is to reach past

its surface to what it’s actually made of.

It names substance you have to break something open to find.
